With an eye to the ground and then to the paper,  Nessler's art continues to explore
new directions. Her 28 years of experience are evident in her fresh and spontaneous
charcoal drawings, the deeply moving and evocative paintings on dark vellum, as
well as in the unique Edges collection. This particular collection, using the edges
of the vellum skin, incorporates her paintings with selections of dried seeds, flowers,
leaves or stems.

Kate lives in Kingston, Arkansas, USA, and her work is known and collected world-
wide. Her most notable awards include three Gold Medals from the Royal
Horticultural Society, UK, and the 1997 Award of Excellence from the American
Society of Botanical Artists.  In 2009 she received the Kendall Distinguished Alumni
Award from Kendall College of Art and Design, Grand Rapids, MI, and in 2010 the
Ozarks Ambassadors Award from North Arkansas College, Harrison, AR.
Her art is included in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, DC; The Hunt
Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh, PA; The Shirley Sherwood Collection, UK; The Lindley Library, UK;
The Morton Arboretum, Lisle, IL; The Brooklyn Botanical Garden Florilegium, NY; and The Prince of Wales Highgrove
Florilegium, UK.  Her work has appeared in many articles and publications both nationally and internationally.  She is
